What to Expect During Your Visit to Lapland SnowVillage

Lapland SnowVillage is a large snow-and-ice exhibition near Ylläs and Levi, rebuilt every winter with a new theme and new carved interiors. During your visit, you walk through snow corridors, themed spaces, and ice-carved details, while exploring features such as the ice bar, snow suites, and the family-friendly ice slide. It is one of the best-known snow-and-ice attractions in Finnish Lapland.

Because the entire village is recreated each season, the atmosphere changes from year to year. The latest edition was built around the theme Pure Celebration, with scenes inspired by circuses, festivals, and other international celebrations. The season before that featured an underwater world theme, with sea-inspired sculptures and glowing scenes carved from snow and ice. SnowVillage is open only during the winter season, which makes the visit feel closely tied to the time of year and to the temporary nature of the whole setting.

Dining Options in a Unique Arctic Setting

SnowVillage includes several dining options within the area. The Ice Restaurant serves a three-course dinner in a frozen setting, the log restaurant Krouvi offers café products and lunch, and the Glass Restaurant opens in the evening with an à la carte menu and group dining options. The ice bar is also part of the exhibition area and adds another side to the visit.

Optional Experiences: Overnight Stay and Private Celebrations

SnowVillage also offers overnight stays in snow suites, making it possible to extend the visit beyond a daytime walk through the exhibition. In addition to the accommodation side, the site also includes spaces for private events and winter celebrations. This makes SnowVillage flexible enough for a daytime visit, a dinner outing, or a more complete overnight experience.
