Night at the Arctic SnowHotel in Lapland with Rooms of Snow and Ice
Spend a night at the Arctic SnowHotel in Lapland and sleep in a room made of snow and ice. Stay warm with an Arctic sleeping bag, enjoy a Finnish sauna, and experience one of the region’s most unusual overnight stays.
What to Expect during your Night at the Arctic Snow Hotel
A night at the Arctic SnowHotel means sleeping in a room built entirely from snow and ice, with carved interiors, illuminated details, and a bed made from ice. Instead of simply walking through the hotel, you settle in for the night and use it as your actual accommodation. It is a rare overnight experience, built around the novelty of sleeping in cold conditions rather than the comfort of a traditional hotel stay.
The stay usually begins with an introduction to the SnowHotel and practical guidance on how the overnight works in cold conditions. Rooms are kept at around 0 to -5°C, and each guest is provided with a warm Arctic sleeping bag designed for the experience. The hotel offers different room categories, from rooms for two guests to larger family suites, and heated shared areas are available if the overnight stay feels too cold.
In the morning, a hot drink is served in your room before breakfast is enjoyed in the warm Log Restaurant. The stay also includes access to a Finnish sauna, which adds a more familiar and comfortable part to the experience. You’ll also have access to complimentary snowshoes, toboggans, snow tubes, and kick sledges to explore the surroundings.
Adventure and Flexibility
This overnight experience suits travelers looking for something unusual and memorable in Lapland, whether as a couple, a family, or a small group. It can work for different ages, although it is generally not recommended for children under five years old because of the cold sleeping conditions.
If spending the full night in the SnowHotel feels too demanding, heated indoor areas are available during the night. For those who want to add more to the experience, upgrades such as a private snow sauna or an outdoor jacuzzi may also be possible.
