Arctic Bushcraft and Ice Fishing Experience

What to Expect: 

This four-hour experience takes place in the forests and frozen lakes around Pyhätunturi. Skilled instructors will teach you how to thrive in cold conditions using traditional techniques, while ensuring your comfort and safety throughout. 

You’ll learn how to build a fire, create natural shelters, and use basic tools and techniques essential for survival in Arctic conditions. All skills are taught using safe, beginner-friendly methods. 

Alongside bushcraft, you'll walk out onto a frozen lake and try ice fishing. After drilling through thick lake ice, you'll drop a line and enjoy the calm of fishing the traditional Finnish way. It's not just about the catch, it's about slowing down, being present in nature, and connecting to a way of life that has sustained people here for centuries. 

Warm drinks and snacks are provided around the fire, offering a moment to relax and reflect on your time outdoors. The experience is designed to be informative and low-pressure, making it a great choice for families, small groups, or individuals looking to deepen their connection to the northern wilderness. 

Adventure and Flexibility: 

This activity is ideal for those curious about Arctic survival, nature skills, or simply wanting to enjoy a peaceful winter setting. The program runs in small groups (maximum 6 guests) to keep the experience personal and adaptable to participants’ interests and pace. 

The terrain is relatively easy to manage, but warm, layered clothing and winter footwear are necessary. All equipment, including ice fishing gear, bushcraft tools, and safety gear, is provided. No prior experience is required.
