Yurt District – Riverside Glamping near Rovaniemi

Boutique glamping at Yurt District offers cozy, riverside yurts with Scandinavian flair, ideal for those wanting a private, nature‑immersed stay near Rovaniemi.

Yurt District sits on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, twenty minutes from central Rovaniemi, with no nearby lights to interfere with stargazing or aurora viewing. The yurts are handmade in Mongolia from natural materials, each around six metres in diameter, and individually furnished with soft textiles, warm lighting, and a distinct interior style. A fridge in each yurt comes stocked with a Finnish breakfast of yogurt, muesli, bread, cold cuts, cheese, and jam, and fast Wi-Fi is available inside. Clean, modern shower and toilet facilities are located a short distance from the yurts.

For a more secluded stay, the Hilltop Yurt sits about three kilometres from the nearest road, reachable by ATV, snowmobile, hiking, or skiing, and suited to two guests seeking extra privacy. It can be booked for a few hours or as an overnight stay, with an outdoor toilet and campfire spot nearby, and a traditional wood-heated sauna by the river a short distance away. Guests can also arrange access to a jacuzzi and cold plunge pool alongside the sauna. For larger groups, the entire 100-hectare property can be booked exclusively, with staff dedicated solely to that stay.
