Apukka Resort – Cabin and Glass Igloo Stays near Rovaniemi

Apukka Resort sits on Lake Olkka, twenty minutes from central Rovaniemi and ten minutes from Santa Claus Village. The resort's glass igloos come in several forms: the Aurora Cabin is a single-level 24 m² igloo with twin beds and a heated glass roof, available in Queen and King variants with larger beds and, in the King's case, an added living area, plus a Family version at 41 m² sleeping up to six. The two-storey Kammi and Komsio suites offer a bedroom beneath the glass roof with a separate ground-floor sitting area, Kammi being the larger of the two with its own kitchenette. For more space, the Lakeview Suites are 42 m² with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and glass walls facing Lake Olkka, while Villa Apukka, a restored 1948 stone house near the main building, sleeps up to fourteen guests across three bedrooms with a private sauna and full kitchen. Breakfast is included with every room type.

Dining is spread across several venues. Restaurant Aitta is the resort's main restaurant, set within century-old timber log walls overlooking Lake Olkka, serving breakfast, lunch, and a dinner built around meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Restaurant Kota offers a three-course dinner inside a traditional wooden kota, with dishes such as reindeer shank and open-fire salmon served by the fire. Lobby Bar Riihi provides a more relaxed bistro menu and evening snacks throughout the day. Guests can also make use of a floating lakeside sauna and ice-swimming opportunities on site.
