You'll land in Rovaniemi and transfer to Arctic City Hotel, your base for the first part of the trip. The hotel sits right in the city center, a short walk from the main street and the river, with two in-house restaurants for dinner and easy access to local shops and cafés. Collect your winter clothing and settle in. The evening is free to explore the town at your own pace.

Reindeer Trails and Northern Skies

The morning takes you to a local reindeer farm for a guided sleigh ride through the snow. You'll spend time with the herd, hear about the traditions of reindeer herding in Lapland, and warm up in a hut with hot drinks and snacks before heading back to the city. In the evening, your guide drives you out beyond the city lights on a northern lights hunt of up to eight hours, adjusting the route throughout the night to track the clearest skies.

Out on the Ice

Spend the morning on a frozen lake for a three-hour ice fishing session. Your guide sets you up with the gear and walks you through the technique, and there is time to warm up by the fire with hot berry juice and traditional Finnish snacks between attempts. Through the Forest on a Snowmobile

Head out on a three-hour snowmobile safari through the forests around Rovaniemi, with warm drinks and snacks included along the route. This activity is for adults only. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you like.

Snowshoes, then Wilderness

Begin the day with a three-hour snowshoeing excursion through quiet winter forest, with your guide setting the pace and pointing out tracks and features of the landscape along the way. Warm drinks and snacks are included. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to Vaattunki Wilderness Resort and check into your Aurora Igloo, with its large windows giving you a clear view of the night sky. Dinner is included at the resort.

Huskies and a Last Night Under the Stars

Set off on a 10km husky safari from a local farm, driving your own sled through the surrounding forest while your guide leads the way. You'll have time to meet the dogs before setting off and to sit back and enjoy the ride as well as take the reins yourself. Spend the rest of the day at the resort before a final dinner included with your stay. The aurora igloo gives you every chance to catch the northern lights from the warmth of your bed.

Departure

After breakfast, return your winter clothing and transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your flight home.
