City to Wilderness for Two

Four nights in Rovaniemi, split between the comfort of the city and the quiet of the wilderness. The first two nights are spent at Arctic City Hotel, right in the center of town with two in-house restaurants and daily sauna access. The final two nights move to Vaattunki Wilderness Resort, a riverside property near the Arctic Circle Hiking Area, staying in an Aurora Igloo with large windows built for watching the sky. In between, the days cover a combined reindeer and ice fishing outing with a kota lunch, a northern lights hunt, a snowmobile safari, and a husky safari. You'll land in Rovaniemi and collect your winter clothing before transferring to Arctic City Hotel, right in the heart of town. Check into your Style Twin room and settle in. Dinner is included at one of the hotel's two in-house restaurants, one casual and one more refined, as part of your half board stay.

Reindeer, Ice, and a Fire Under the Stars

Spend around four hours on a combined reindeer and ice fishing outing, visiting a reindeer farm before trying your hand at drilling through the ice, with a kota soup lunch or barbecue included along the way. Dinner is served back at the hotel in the evening. Afterward, a group northern lights hunt heads out for up to eight hours, adjusting the route throughout the night to find the clearest skies.

Into the Wilderness

The morning starts with a one-hour snowmobile safari through the forest around Rovaniemi. After checking out of Arctic City Hotel, transfer to Vaattunki Wilderness Resort, set along the Ounasjoki River near the Arctic Circle Hiking Area. Check into your Aurora Igloo, with its glass roof built for watching the night sky, and enjoy dinner at Restaurant Niva, serving Nordic dishes by the open fire or on the terrace overlooking the river.

A Morning with the Huskies

Head out on a 10km husky safari through the surrounding forest. The rest of the day is free to make use of the resort's sauna and jacuzzi, with views over the natural surroundings, before a final dinner at Restaurant Niva.

After breakfast, return your winter clothing and transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your flight home.
