Situated about 150 kilometers to the east of Rovaniemi, lays the true winter wonderland of Finnish Lapland - Riisitunturi National Park. On this Riisitunturi tour, you will embark on a hike through one of the most picturesque winter scenes of Lapland, renowned as the prime spot for photography enthusiasts and tourists alike. This 9-hour tour commences with a morning drive from Rovaniemi to Riisitunturi. On your way, you will witness mesmerizing Arctic wilderness that will already treat your eyes. Upon arriving at Riisitunturi, an exciting 4km expedition awaits you within the national park. An expert guide will lead you through snowy paths, teaching you about the wildlife and nature, while allowing you to witness the spectacle of snow-draped trees—a common sight in Riisitunturi National Park, where fully grown spruce trees can bear up to four tons of snow. If you’re fortunate, you may even spot some Arctic creatures roaming around. Around midway, you will be invited for a light lunch around an open fire, crafted by your guide who may be using traditional methods like flint and steel, instead of your usual matches. During this cozy break, your guide will also offer more insights about the area, Arctic life, and address any questions you may have.
