As you settle in, your guide will share their knowledge on everything relating to ice fishing, walk you through how to drill a whole in the ice and instruct you on the proper way to use a pilkki (ice fishing rod). After the round of tips and tricks, you are encouraged to take in the complete serenity and wait for the first fish to bite. You will soon realize that the magic of ice fishing doesn’t only rely on the thrill of catching something, but the practice itself holds a very meditative essence within it. While you wait to feel that tiny pull on the end of the rod, you are allowed to sink deep into your seat, let all your worries float away and nature take its course. If you’re lucky, your quiet moment may be broken by an eager underwater swimmer or two!
